Our most recent releases for example provide support for simulating mobile applications and devices so that organizations that are opening up applications to the mobile world can be assured that the infrastructure will continue to scale and perform.

Silk QAload or Silk Performer – Customer Choice™

Customer ChoiceTM is our way to provide QALoad customers maximum flexibility as not a single customer is the same. There are those whose needs are met by what QALoad delivers today or use our Linux player and they can continue to take advantage of existing QALoad automation assets. Other customers might need advanced support for mobile and Web 2.0 applications or want to leverage the Cloud to generate large peak loads and they may want to consider using Silk Test and QALoad concurrently.

Whatever the scenario, if QALoad doesn’t offer all functionality anymore you need, we have made using Silk Performer the easy choice. And if migrating is right for you, we have the tools to help you move over to Silk Performer with a minimum of effort.

Path to the future

Our long term aim is to combine the best elements from Silk QALoad and Silk Performer into Silk Performer and to offer a single product that is the best in the industry.  To achieve that and to ensure we meet the needs of our existing customers, we are striving to make  a future transition as smooth as possible by providing flexibility.  Flexibility to continue to use QALoad for current performance testing needs, to allow our customers to use Silk Performer selectively for applications that QALoad does not support or to move completely to Silk Performer. Whatever the need, we are here to support it.

For those customers where moving to Silk Performer is the best option, a number of capabilities are available, achieving the transition with a minimum of effort:

• Silk Performer’s ease of use - Silk Performer has been enhanced with QALoad customers in mind. There are many examples of customers moving from QALoad and other load testing products. Universally the experience is that Silk Performer’s ease of use has allowed teams to quickly get performance tests up and running, delivering value to the business.

• Training and documentation - When customers are ready to make the move, Borland will be here to help.  We have training and technical documentation available for QALoad users that supports acceleration of the migration process.

• Getting started with Silk Performer services – Our services staff can come on site and help you get up to speed and move your performance testing capabilities to Silk Performer.
